There’s something to be said for a power duo that can produce as much sound as London, Ontario’s Heart Attack Kids. Today we’ve got a pair of tracks from the dudes from up north. Comprised of Jared Ellul on axe duty and Nathan Stock beating on the skins, the two-track rocks harder than your granny’s rocking chair.

Kicking off, we have “Glass Bones.” A raucous sub-two and a half minute affair, Ellul and Stock cram enough riffs and hammering drums to make a sweaty house show’s basement explode with glee. Imagine being crammed into a low-ceiling space with enough sound to pummel your ear drums, but still make you beg to want more. This is “Glass Bones.” Hell, this is Heart Attack Kids in a nutshell.

Now, if you thought that the band was going to let off the gas, you’d be very wrong. Following up, we’re met with “Satellites.” There are sound POUNDING drums to open the track, and when paired with Ellul’s guitar attack, this is the kind of song that makes you want to MOVE. Seriously. I am jealous of any of you that might have the opportunity to see this song live.

What is so astounding is that this band is two dudes. Just. How!? I bet they’re a great time, and it’s obvious they know how to write tunes to make you want to slam dance until you cannot lift your limbs.

Ultimately, if you are looking for a heavy punk rock outfit that pulls no punches and makes what I’d consider gnarly house show tunes, Heart Attacks Kids are for you. Seriously. I’m not kidding. Put your headphones on and blast this. Roll your windows down and crank this in your car. You might get some sideways glances, but you’ll have a good time rocking out with these dudes.
