Dear College Radio Family,
As you may know – on World College Radio Day 2025, Cleveland State University chose to take the WCSB college radio station from the students and community volunteers, after nearly 50 years! You can read the whole story here. As those students and volunteers previously involved with WCSB have lost access to their radio station, they have now taken the name of XCSB. The fight is not over!
In response – we are now inviting all college radio stations from around the world to send in an audio message of support to show that they stand with the students and community volunteers who no longer have a home at WCSB.
This is very simple and quick to do – and your voices will make a difference.
1. Please record a 15-20 second audio message of support in whatever language you prefer (does not have to be English).
2. Make sure you identify your radio station, your college or university (if you want) but definitely your state or country.
3. Tell us why you support the students and community volunteers of XCSB.
4. Tell us why you think college radio is so important!
Then please send that mp3 to rob@collegeradioday.com by Friday, October 17.
Let’s send an unmistakable message that college radio stands with XCSB, we support each other, and we proudly champion the important medium of college radio!
