36 days to go!

36 days to go!

College radio friends,

We know that semesters are starting and it may be a bit chaotic, but World College Radio Day is just over a month away! Less than 36 days until WCRD2020!

Stations worldwide are gearing up for what promises to be our best WCRD yet. A reminder that our theme this year is Global Solidarity Rocks!

The obvious goal of WCRD is to raise the profile of college radio in your town and remind our audience that college radio is different (in a great way) and vital to the quality of life at each campus. Even though life on campus has been significantly disrupted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are hearing inspiring stories of students and staff’s sheer determination to adapt and continue to broadcast however they can! It truly has warmed our hearts! Our celebration is also to remind each of us that our respective stations are part of a larger, connected community.

Remember that beyond the fun, this day brings great perks and the opportunity to earn your station a grant! That’s right! The College Radio Foundation continues to award grants to participating stations that are in dire need of funds, and on our tenth anniversary, we are giving away thousands of dollars. In order to be eligible though, your station must be registered with us. Registration and access of all WCRD assets is absolutely FREE.

If you are not sure if your station is registered, you can always check our list here or email us.

There is still time to register: https://www.collegeradio.org/college-radio-day/register/

Check some of the sweet promos we put together for this day and you can start downloading them to begin promoting WCRD at your station. https://soundcloud.com/collegeradionewsnetwork/sets/sweepers-wcrd-oct-2-2020

And you can always check our store for this years’ merchandise including an exclusive, limited edition vinyl with a documentary commemorating our tenth anniversary!

Stay tuned for super exciting news on our celebrity line up for this year and assets to help you put together a great day on-air, on socials, on campus while maintaining your institution, local, state/province and country’s guidelines. We got you covered!

Stay well and long live college radio!
