This year’s World College Radio Day (WCRD) carried the theme “Tune In to the People,” emphasizing how student broadcasters around the globe give voice to their peers, their communities, and the causes that unite us. From classrooms to radio booths, thousands of students and professors sustained the passion for communicating with purpose and connecting through sound. This year’s awards recognize the extraordinary efforts that were made by participating college radio stations from around the world.

College radio remains an essential space for dialogue, diversity, and creative collaboration. More than a medium, it stands as a movement—one that embodies the critical thinking, social engagement, and cultural vitality of universities worldwide.

Global Marathon Awards Honor Excellence

The World College Radio Day Organizing Committee proudly announces the distinguished stations recognized for their outstanding participation in the WCRD25 24-Hour Global Marathon that was exclusively hosted by Live365.com:

  • Best Program Award: Asociación de Radios Universitarias de España (Spain) — for excellence in program quality and relevance.
  • Audience Choice Award: KTU Radio (Ghana) — for attracting the highest live listenership during the global marathon.
  • Host Award: UCC 98.3FM (Ireland) — for its technical coordination and leadership in organizing the worldwide broadcast.

“These distinctions reflect the collaborative spirit, creativity, and global community that define college radio,” said Gabriel Menchero, 2025–26 World College Radio Day President. “Every year, students and educators remind us how powerful radio can be as a voice for empathy and connection.”
