On Friday, October 4, we will celebrate World College Radio Day 2024. Our theme this year is “Defenders of Democracy.”
Defending democracy is crucial because it ensures the continuing right to freedom of speech, education, and the ability to influence government decisions that affect lives. Democracy empowers people to shape their future and protects against tyranny and injustice, fostering a society where everyone can pursue their dreams and live freely. College radio has a proud history of standing for democracy and we encourage students and participating radio stations to create programming for this year’s WCRD event that explores the importance of this theme.
