On Friday, October 2, stations, academic and student communities around the globe will come together to celebrate World College Radio Day 2026 under a powerful theme: “HOPE -Always In The Air!”.
This year’s theme is a reflection of radio’s enduring role as a source of connection, resilience, and optimism in an increasingly complex world. At a time when uncertainty often dominates headlines, college radio stations stand as vital spaces where voices are amplified, stories are shared, and hope is continuously broadcast into the airwaves and through the Internet.
“HOPE -Always In The Air!” emphasizes the invisible yet profound presence of radio in our daily lives. Like the air we breathe, radio surrounds us -crossing borders, cultures, and generations. It reminds us that even in moments of isolation, we are connected, and that hope persists even when the future feels uncertain.
College radio embodies this spirit. Driven by students and young creators, it is a platform where emerging voices explore identity, culture, music, and social issues with authenticity and passion. These stations are incubators of innovation and empathy, proving that hope is not passive -it is created, shared and sustained through communication.

El viernes 2 de octubre, estaciones, comunidades académicas y estudiantiles de todo el mundo se unirán para celebrar el Día Mundial de la Radio Estudiantil y Universitaria 2026 bajo un poderoso lema: “ESPERANZA – ¡Siempre en el Aire!”.
El tema de este año refleja el papel perdurable de la radio como fuente de conexión, resiliencia y optimismo en un mundo cada vez más complejo. En un momento en que la incertidumbre suele dominar los titulares, las estaciones de radio estudiantiles y universitarias se mantienen como espacios vitales donde las voces se amplifican, las historias se comparten y la esperanza se transmite continuamente a través de las ondas radiales y de Internet.
“ESPERANZA – ¡Siempre en el Aire!” enfatiza la presencia invisible pero profunda de la radio en nuestra vida diaria. Al igual que el aire que respiramos, la radio nos rodea — cruzando fronteras, culturas y generaciones. Nos recuerda que, incluso en momentos de aislamiento, estamos conectados y que la esperanza persiste aun cuando el futuro parece incierto.
La radio estudiantil y universitaria encarna este espíritu.
