Vinylthon Fundraising

Our annual Vinylthon event (which takes place on Record Store Day) is a valuable opportunity to remind audiences that college radio still exists and still plays the unique music format of vinyl! We also wish to use this opportunity to fund-raise for our College Radio Fund that provides grants to the college radio stations that need them the most. Being able to provide a radio service for a college isn’t easy but it’s worth it for the services we and others like us provide to campuses. Check out this article on fundraising ideas for college sororities if you want to do some local fundraising for your college radio or other college activities.

Feel free to send listeners and supporters to our special donation page as well. They can find it at: https://www.collegeradio.org/donate/

Also – here is the direct link to our donation page on PayPal:

We are encouraging everyone who donates to name the college radio station that sent them there!

As we are an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)3 charity – we have been working with our contact at the FCC to ensure that we craft a fundraising spot/live-read using language that is acceptable for on-air broadcast at an NCE entity. This spot can be played/read during the entire day – as long as it’s during regularly scheduled programming breaks. In fact, the FCC has also let us know that you can continue to play it on rotation indefinitely.

Our 30-second fundraising spot is here:

The script for the spot is here, if stations prefer to download and read on the air live (you can download the PDF as well):
