In celebration of his selection as a featured artist for this year’s World College Radio Day, UK singer-songwriter Jake Bugg made a stop in Nashville to visit WVCP at Volunteer State Community College. In an exclusive session presented by BBC Introducing in America, Bugg sat down for an intimate live interview and delivered an stripped-down acoustic performance straight from the campus studio.

The visit gave listeners a rare, up-close look at Bugg’s evolving craft. During the interview, he discussed his upcoming seventh studio album, Alamo, set for release on November 13 through Thirty Tigers. The 11-track record marks a shift into independent territory and a return to his folk, blues, and roots foundations.
Highlighting the live set was a performance of his new single, “Never Can Tell”. Leaning into country-influenced textures and rockabilly rhythms, the track captures Bugg navigating trust, fame, and learning to follow his gut after over a decade in the spotlight.

The interview and acoustic performance will be included in the syndicated 1-hour Simulcast that is played by many college radio stations on World College Radio Day, October 2.
